The Bible
We believe the 66 books of the Bible are the written Word of God, inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts, and the supreme and final authority on life and faith. We believe that the Word of God supersedes any earthly law that is contrary to the Holy Scriptures.
We believe the Bible is reliable in everything it teaches about God, ourselves, and our world. We reject the philosophy that all truth is relative. We believe that observed truth from objective scientific observations cannot be in conflict with revealed truth in God’s Word.
We believe the historical accounts found in Scripture describe factual events, places, and persons. This includes the accounts of creation, the fall, Noah’s flood, and the tower of Babel. We find no biblical, hermeneutical, or exegetical basis to interpret these events allegorically, non-historically, or mythically. God created the heavens and the earth in six consecutive 24-hour days.
We believe that God created all things very good. God created mankind in His own image, male and female, for relationship with Him. The first person, Adam, sinned, bringing death and disease into God’s good creation. All men have subsequently chosen to sin and, as a result, are subject to God’s judgment of death and eternal separation from Him. Fallen mankind is at enmity with God and in need of salvation which is only available through the Savior – the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Trinity
We believe that the God of the Bible is the only true God. He is one infinite and perfect God eternally existing in three persons equal in power and glory – God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is sovereign and created all things out of nothing for his purpose and glory.
God the Father
We believe in the person of God the Father, an infinite, eternal, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all those who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ co-exists with God the Father from everlasting to everlasting. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and was born of the virgin Mary. We believe in His full deity, His full humanity, and His sinless and perfect life that fully pleased God His Father. We believe Jesus offered Himself once and for all as the only atoning, substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all people on the cross bearing God’s judgment against sin. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, never to die again, and is ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes as High Priest on behalf of all who have received Him by faith.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that through hearing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin and God’s righteous judgment against us, and leads us to Christ for salvation. We believe in and confess our dependence upon the Holy Spirit and His illumination of God’s Word and empowering of the saints for holy living. He indwells, guides, and bestows spiritual gifts to fulfill God’s will. We believe the Holy Spirit convicts and regenerates true believers. The supreme evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the fruit of the Spirit, love.
Salvation
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, everlasting life with God for the saved, and everlasting punishment for the lost. Salvation is a gift received by grace through faith in Christ alone and expressed in the individual’s repentance, recognition of the death of Christ as full payment for sin, and acceptance and following of the risen Christ as Savior and Lord. Because Jesus died for the sins of the world, the invitation for salvation is open to all, and anyone anywhere may come unto Jesus for new life and the forgiveness of sins.
