Lesson 2

The world’s view
All religions believe in the same god.
Biblical Truth
But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King.  Jeremiah 10:10a

The Lord God is the only true God.

 

Lesson 3

I do what I think is right according to my own standards.
Biblical Truth
Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.  John 14:21

Lesson 4

If you do some bad things it is ok, so long as on the whole, you do enough good things to outweigh the bad things.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 6:23

If you’re a good person, you go to heaven.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Lesson 6

The world’s view
It’s cool to be boy crazy.
Biblical Truth
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.  Ephesians 5:3

Lesson 7

The world’s view
“Oh my G–!!”

You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.  Exodus 20:7

Treating God as King and revering His holy name.

 

Lesson 8

The world’s view
The Bible is just an old book, its full of errors and contradicts science.
Biblical Truth
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.  2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible is God’s Word.  It is without error.

 

Lesson 9

The world’s view
Pray to your guardian angel to keep you safe.
Biblical Truth
[Jesus said,] “This, then, is how you should pray:
” ‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name”  Matthew 6:9

We pray to and worship God alone.  Guidance on prayer.

 

Lesson 10

The world’s view
Secular scientists tell us that all life on earth evolved over millions of years.
Biblical Truth
For by [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.  Colossians 1:16

God is our awesome Creator who created us in His image.

 

Lesson 11

The world’s view
God is an impersonal being.
Biblical Truth
God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.  Galatians 4:6b-7

Our God is a personal God who loves us dearly.  We are his children.

 

Lesson 12

The world’s view
Why is there death and suffering in the world?
Biblical Truth
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—Romans 5:12

God created paradise for us, but this is a fallen world.

 

Lesson 13

The world’s view
No one knows for sure what life is really all about, it’s hopeless.
Biblical Truth
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,  1 Peter 3:15b

God has given us the answer to all the difficult questions in life – we find them in His Word.

 

Lesson 14

The world’s view
Use your talents to get ahead in life.
Biblical Truth
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  1 Peter 4:10

God made each one of us special, and equipped us to serve Him in an individual way.

 

Lesson 15

The world’s view
Dress cool to be popular.
Biblical Truth
…women [are] to dress modestly, with decency…[not with] expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.” 1 Timothy 2:9b-10

The fashions of the world contradict who we are in Christ.

 

Lesson 16

The world’s view
Everyone has their own beliefs, keep yours to yourself.
Biblical Truth
I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.  Psalm 89:1-2
